An anachronism is something out of place in time
Something that has no logical reason and no rhyme
A Rolex watch on a plebian citizen at the time of Caesar
Or a Victorian home with a refrigerator and upright freezer
And you would think how any of this could be possible
But evidence is mounting of things that seem impossible
A gold chain embedded in a coal seam millions of years ago
A spark plug in a geode dating back to a time we don’t know
We are but a mere grain of sand on a wide and very long beach
And the knowledge of what was, well we’re not ever likely to reach.
