As we stand upon our orbiting orb, we are locked in a gravity dance
At a scale we can barely comprehend, we swirl and twirl and prance
And because of the nature of the repeating rhythms we ne’er advance
But rather celebrate the magic of equinox, solstice and cross quarter day
Always coming around and round with repeating orbits in a centripetal play
Because the laws of physics as writ by Kepler and Newton still hold sway
We barely notice the dance between the Earth and Luna and the Sun
Consumed as we are with our daily lives and petty tasks and times of fun
Yet hidden rhythms pervade into our lives and they will ne’er ever be done
Like the tides and seasons and the crops we raise and eat
Like the rituals and rites and churches wherein we meet
Not just the orbs but us as well, in this gravity dance we greet
Each other and in the wondrous repeating spin we begin anew again.
