The sun shines its light upon my face
It is fleet of foot, the fastest in a race
From when it leaves its source
To when it gets here of course
Is nearly eight minutes at its best
That seems so long but I do not jest
A flashlight beam or a laser travels just as fast
But travels a distance not nearly as vast
In one nanosecond light travels a foot nearly
So if you shine your light on something clearly
Its departure and arrival are not exactly simultaneous
But rather it arrives there in a manner plesiosychronous
