LOGODAEDULUS

There are so many words in our American tongue
That I often wonder from where they do come
Although we are a melting pot of several languages
There are words I ponder that give me such anguishes

Neither French nor Latin nor German nor Greek
Their etymological roots and origins I do seek
In some dusty tome I think there must surely reside
The first time a word was created and first became alive

What logodaedulus wordsmith put paper to pen
And created a word we now use over and again
That it has now been fully integrated into our common vernacular
And wormed its way into our everyday tongue. Oh my, how spectacular!

*(Noun – A person who uses words with skill or cunning.)
